A beautiful rug does more than sit on your floor. A great rug changes energy. It reshapes a room without moving a single wall. It takes open space and gives it intimacy, takes a simple layout and turns it into something visually rhythmic. More than any other design element, a rug can completely alter the mood of a home with one bold decision. At Marshall Flooring, rugs aren’t just an accessory—they’re a specialty, a passion, and a craft. With the largest selection of area rugs in the state of Ohio, we help homeowners turn ordinary rooms into extraordinary experiences.
Rugs are enjoying a renaissance unlike anything we’ve seen in decades. Designers are leaning into them as statement pieces, grounding anchors, and artistic focal points. Today’s homeowner wants uniqueness—something not found in big-box stores or mass-produced catalogs. That’s why custom rugs have become one of the most sought-after design elements across Ohio. When you can shape, size, edge, bind, and design a rug specifically for your space, it becomes more than décor—it becomes a signature.
Our rug fabrication room is where the magic happens. This is where homeowners bring sketches, ideas, inspiration photos, or simply a dream, and we turn it into reality. Want a runner that perfectly hugs an angled staircase? A custom curved rug for a room with unique architecture? A hall runner made long enough to stretch the entire length of your home’s gallery hallway? We can create it. Specialty shapes, uncommon dimensions, layered patterns—we do it all.
One of the most exciting trends we’re fabricating is the oversized area rug. Homeowners are expanding rugs beyond the typical 8x10 and 9x12 sizes, choosing broad custom rugs that fit entire great rooms, under large dining sets, or wall-to-wall without becoming full carpet installations. The result is a room that feels cohesive, luxurious, and intentional.
The materials available today are equally impressive. Hand-knotted wool rugs bring elegance and heirloom quality. Silk and wool-silk blends offer shimmering movement that shifts with the light. Contemporary nylon rugs deliver bold colors, crisp patterns, and incredible resilience. Whether you want traditional Persian-inspired motifs, modern abstract strokes, or a monochromatic minimalist creation, there is a rug for every taste.
But the beauty of rug customization is the freedom. A rug isn’t limited to the rack; it can be anything you imagine. Pattern, pile height, border detail, and material composition all become part of the design conversation. For homes with hardwood or LVP, rugs create stunning contrast—soft texture against smooth surfaces. For homes with existing carpet, a rug can create layered dimension and introduce visual hierarchy.
Even more exciting is the increasing use of stair runners as architectural accents. Runners not only add comfort and safety but also create dramatic statements, turning staircases into works of art. With Marshall Flooring’s ability to fabricate custom runners in virtually any pattern or size, your staircase becomes a true design feature rather than just a functional necessity.
Whether it’s a custom hallway runner, a luxury hand-knotted wool rug, or an artistic contemporary piece designed specifically around your room dimensions, Marshall Flooring transforms rugs into an experience. This is the new rug revolution—where creativity, craftsmanship, and personal style come together under one roof.
